Now this is the larger studio painting that I created, based on the original study below.  Something does get lost in transition, though I really played with the bronze and gold paints on this one, which is hard to see in the photo. I am now on a iridescent and metallic paint kick.   More to come!

This is a plein air piece that was created a few weeks ago went the fall colours were at their peak.  An artist friend and I parked ourselves at the edge of a beaver pond for the day, and enjoyed the golden light and glorious colours.  I only appreciate that so much more today when the wind is howling and it is rainy and cold. Winter is coming!

Art Tour weekend approaches again.  I will be at the Loft Gallery in Clarksburg all day Saturday showing my most recent paintings, along with Ottawa artist Ed Ambrose.  I have been doing quite a lot of plein air work, more pictures to come!
