One of Those Perfect Winter Days
60"x48"
Acrylic on Canvas
SOLD
I have just returned from a week in Palm Springs where I was visiting my parents and soaking up that amazing California sunshine. It was the perfect antidote to a long Canadian winter. While I was there we checked out the La Quinta Arts Festival, which is ranked the top US fine art festival. What a treat! It was a plethora of sculpture, glassworks, pottery, jewellery and of course paintings. Hundreds of booths were spread across a gorgeous park-like setting. We really enjoyed ourselves, and my only problem was to figure out how to bring some of the large sculptures back on the plane to Canada! If you are ever in the area in mid March, do check it out.

Golden Hour
36"x60"
Acrylic on Canvas
SOLD
This is a little different direction for me. More monochromatic. I was having lots of fun playing in the gold and iridescent paints. Not sure those come through in the photo, but it really sparkles in person.

Goodbye Old Friend
I am so sad to say that this past week I lost my painting and hiking buddy. Bubba, our 14 year old black lab was an amazing companion and friend.
Bubba gave me the gift of slowing down and "seeing" nature as we went for our daily walks. Through my time with him, I was able to appreciate the slow change of seasons, and the play of light on the landscape each day. I truly believe he enhanced my abilities as an artist, and am so grateful for the time we spent together.
I will miss his snuggles the most!

Killarney Kaleidoscope
36"x30"
Acrylic on Canvas
This one is based on a plein air study that I painted while camping in Killarney Provincial Park, ON this past fall. This was the view from our campsite on Killarney Lake. It was a magnificent week of painting, canoeing, exploring and sharing with three other amazing women artists. I hope we will do it again next year! It was great for the soul.
