The other day I decided to do some experimenting. I painted the same scene using two different underpainting methods. The upper painting uses a tangerine ground, while the bottom painting uses a black ground. Which do you prefer?

Your pieces POP on the black ground
You are right Brian. That's why I always seem to go back to the the black, I usually like the outcome better!
