Juicy Birches

24"x40"
Acrylic on Canvas
SOLD

If you follow my work, you may have noticed that I have been painting a number of birch inspired pieces over the past few years.  This series was originally inspired by my home.  The property around our house is covered in paperbark birches.  Looking out just about any window in my home gives me a beautiful view of these graphic tree trunks.  Using the trees and branches as a basic composition, I am able to intuitively explore colour.  I find these paintings to be a great meditation on colour and light for me.  The bonus is that they have been embraced by so many collectors.  It is a subject matter that I am continued to be fascinated by and look forward to painting more.
